We are constantly trying new things to challenge ourselves.  Last week we were hired to photograph Patricia South’s new line of wedding dresses in and around Fort Lauderdale.  For the first set of photos we shot at night to give the dress a darker edgier look.  We thought it would stand out when put beside all of the white on white wedding advertising out there.

Our next set of portraits will be at the Boca Raton Country Club and they will probably have a brighter feel.

We offer these types of high-fashion photography shoots for brides and grooms that want something different than the normal engagement photos.

Eloping in a Hot Air Balloon Above Fort Lauderdale

This weekend we photographed a truly unique wedding.  Bruce and Kyle called us when they decided to elope.  To keep it exciting they hired a balloon from Windswept Balloons and flew up on a Sunday morning with perfect winds.

The morning started early but they were flying as the sun broke through the clouds.  Weight requirements prevented us from flying with them but the ceremony was carried out in the balloon as we followed in a chase car.

Upon landing we popped open a bottle of Champaign and celebrated with chocolate covered strawberries.

Jenni and Mike’s wedding on Fort Lauderdale Beach

Jenni and Mike have a storied history that started with a chance meeting on a cruise. Then borders gaurds and jobs kept forced them into a long distance relationship. But the final hurdle was a surprise. After planning a dream wedding in Cancun swine flu forced them to rescheduled their wedding in Fort Lauderdale.

The day started with preperations at the Harbor Beach Marriot Resort and Spa, and ended with a ceremony on the beach. Jenni and Mike were classic extroverts which made it easy to pose some whimsical portraits before the ceremony.

Her name has been circulating in certain circles. Her retail locations are around the globe. Now Ivonne De La Vega has a new showroom on Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale.

This Cuban-American, thirty-something designer has dressed them all…debutantes, mothers-of-the-brides/grooms, socialites, political figures, and celebrities. Most recently, she was commissioned by the Flagler-Matthews family to design the wedding gown for Henry Flagler’s great granddaughter Kelly Matthews.

As she says, her philosophy “is not to re-invent the wheel, only to give it a younger, newer spin.
