Nilgun and Bilgin vacationed in Miami and wanted engagement portraits showing the Miami and South Beach atmosphere.
Thankfully the afternoon started cloudy and cool as we shot at Vizcaya Museum. The architecture and gardens made for a fairytale set of photographs. The museum is one of the best public places to make portraits in South Miami. It is best to schedule the shoot for a weekday so that it isn’t too crowded.
Then we went to South Beach and shot a few well lit photos in front of the art-deco hotels. This can be tricky with all of the people walking around. We kept the images simple, but I think that in the future we may try to incorporate that busy hustle and bustle, and might even go in the evening to show the energy and romance of the Miami night-life.
Finally we went to the iconic beach and photographed in the lifeguard station and by the water. These made for very simple and elegant photos as the sun went over the horizon.

These photographs require the Flash plug-in.
We had a fun portrait session for Kerry and Matt at The Breakers in Palm Beach as they dropped in from New York to prepare for their wedding. As a couple they constantly make each other laugh so the portraits came naturally.
We started indoors but worked our way out to the croquet lawn and ended on the roof overlooking the ocean. The Breakers Resort is an ideal place for engagement photos because there are so many nooks and corners with their own mood.
Their wedding will be at St. Annes Catholic Church in West Palm Beach.
